Bitcoin (BTC) held above $84,000 at the time of writing on Friday, maintaining gains of more than 4% since the start of the week. Institutional demand continues to support the bullish outlook, with spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recording $2.25 billion in net inflows through Thursday, putting them on track for their strongest weekly inflows since October 2025.
The latest rally has pushed Bitcoin past a long-term technical hurdle, although traders should remain cautious about a modest pullback as profit-taking activity has reached its highest level in a year.
Billions of dollars flow into Bitcoin ETFs
Institutional demand for Bitcoin has supported the cryptocurrency’s price this week. Data from SoSoValue showed that spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $2.25 billion in net inflows through Thursday, their strongest weekly inflows since October 2025.
Moreover, Monday recorded the largest single-day inflow since October 2025, pointing to continued strength in institutional demand. If these inflows continue to grow and accelerate, Bitcoin could extend its current rally.
On the corporate front, Michael Saylor-led Bitcoin treasury company Strategy added around 950 Bitcoin on Monday, bringing its total holdings to 846,000 Bitcoin. The purchase signals renewed focus by Strategy on accumulating Bitcoin, supporting the bullish outlook.
