Bitwise says crypto has entered a “spring” after one of the best quarters in its history, with bitcoin rising 42.31% in Q3 2026 and climbing back above $83,000.

Bitcoin rebounds from June low

According to Bitwise’s Crypto Market Review for Q4 2026, bitcoin showed signs of bottoming after hitting a low of $59,000 in June.

The rally came despite the Federal Reserve’s 25 basis point rate hike on Sept. 16, its first increase since 2023.

Even after the rebound, bitcoin is still down 4.55% for the year.

The broader Bitwise 10 Large Cap Crypto Index gained 46.39% in the quarter, with all ten constituents posting double-digit returns.

Money also moved further down the risk curve into altcoins, pushing bitcoin’s share of the crypto market below 60% for the first time this year.

ETF flows turn positive

Spot bitcoin ETFs took in roughly $6 billion during Q3, including $3.5 billion in August, their best month of 2026.

Those inflows flipped year-to-date net flows back to positive in late September, following record outflows in the second quarter.

U.S. spot bitcoin products now hold $108 billion in assets, with $59.5 billion in net flows since launching in January 2024.

Bitcoin · 30-day price▲ 6.2%

Bitcoin moved from $76,146.1 to $80,866.8 over the last 30-day period, a gain of 6.2 percent.
