The purchases made through the ARK Innovation ETF, the ARK Next Generation Internet ETF and the ARK Blockchain & Fintech Innovation ETF totaled 456,059 Block shares, and at Monday’s closing price of $82.02 — down 1.85% for the day — the purchases were worth about $37.4 million.
This followed Ark’s purchases of Block shares during dips in its share prices throughout 2026, including 236,759 shares for about $17.2 million in June bought via ARKK and 19,029 for about $1.52 million in July bought via ARKW and ARKF.
Ark’s actively-managed funds periodically rebalance their holdings to account for changes in the market capitalization of stocks. Holdings are typically capped at 10% of the fund’s assets, so the manager will buy or sell in order to rebalance them to that percentage.
The latest Block purchase follows the release of the company’s second-quarter earnings report in August for the three months ending June 30, which showed a year-on-year gross profit increase of 25% to $3.17 billion. Cash App generated $1.97 billion (31% increase), and Square generated $1.16 billion (13% increase), with adjusted operating income of $864 million and adjusted diluted earnings per share of $1.02.
