North American Derivatives Exchange (Nadex), the US-regulated derivatives arm of Crypto(dot)com, filed Form 1-N with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Sept. 14 to register as a national securities exchange for trading futures products.
The SEC
the filing on Sept. 16, with the registration taking immediate effect. The clearance authorizes OG(dot)com, Nadex's affiliated trading platform, to list single-stock futures for US market participants.
Crypto(dot)com co-founder and CEO Kris Marszalek disclosed the development in an X
on Sept. 17. Nadex separately holds registration with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) as a designated contract market and derivatives clearing organization. OG(dot)com recently spun off as an independent trading platform before the SEC filing was submitted.
Marszalek said the company is now working with both the SEC and the CFTC to gain approval for single-stock
in the US. Perpetual futures are futures contracts with no fixed expiration date, a structure widely used in crypto markets but not yet established for equities in the US. "We are working with the SEC and the CFTC to offer single-stock perps in the U.S., which will combine the innovations of the digital asset markets with the U.S. capital markets," he wrote.
