The transition to eDesk is now accompanied by a clear supervisory roadmap. The new framework introduces a structured reporting cycle combining monthly, quarterly and annual submissions, enabling the CSSF to obtain more timely and consistent information across regulated entities. While certain reporting obligations already exist, the new approach centralizes data collection, embeds validation controls and supports a more continuous supervisory model.
The transition period gives firms time to assess their readiness, enhance data governance and align reporting processes with the CSSF's new supervisory expectations. While the testing phase allows institutions to familiarize themselves with the new processes, organizations should use this period to strengthen data governance, clarify ownership of regulatory data and address any operational or technology gaps. Given the increased focus on data quality and automated validations, early preparation might be essential to ensure a seamless migration once eDesk becomes the mandatory reporting channel.
Expected timeline
From 1 April 2027 – Mandatory use of eDesk: eDesk will become the sole official channel for the submission of the reports concerned, and the previous reporting process will be discontinued. All reports with a submission deadline falling on or after 1 April 2027 must therefore be submitted via eDesk, including reports relating to a reporting period ending before 1 April 2027. For example, monthly reports relating to March 2027 but due for submission in April 2027, as well as reports relating to the first quarter of 2027, must be submitted via eDesk.
