CZ Denies Moving Bitcoin Price, Says $3 Trillion Crypto Market Is ‘Nowhere Near Saturated’

Binance founder Changpeng Zhao has an answer to whether his tweets move crypto markets, no, they don’t, even when the timing looks suspiciously perfect.

Zhao addressed speculation that his August 19 tweet triggered a 20% Bitcoin rally that unfolded just hours before Trump’s crypto summit speech. “The short answer is no. I do not have the power to do that,” Zhao said, explaining he tweets bullish content five to ten times daily and had no advance knowledge of Trump’s speech. “If I had known, I would not have made that tweet.”

Zhao said the tweet came from reading a quote about taking action today to build a better future, which he adapted into crypto commentary while on the road, calling it coincidence rather than insider timing. “If you tweet bullish five times a day, one of the times it will be five hours before positive news,” he said. “Well, for sure no one is complaining today.”

On whether crypto has reached market saturation, Zhao pointed to global adoption figures suggesting crypto penetration remains under 1% worldwide, arguing significant room for growth still exists.

On Whether Retail Investors Can Compete Against Paid Promotion

Asked whether retail investors can truly win when projects pay market makers, KOLs, launchpads and exchanges for promotion, Zhao said yes, though he acknowledged the space between honest marketing and outright deception isn’t always clear-cut. “Between false and truth, it’s not always black and white,” he said, noting projects can overhype or use deliberately ambiguous language without technically lying.
