By partnering with Bridge, which holds the necessary EMI and Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) licences under the EU's new MiCA regulations, Revolut is bypassing the massive regulatory hurdle of launching a native token.
This partnership highlights a growing industry trend: major consumer fintechs using specialised, third-party infrastructure to deploy compliant Web3 products rapidly.
EURR will also not be siloed exclusively within the Revolut app. The enterprise plans to deploy the stablecoin across multiple blockchain networks, allowing users to eventually transfer EURR to external, compatible Web3 wallets.
Despite the launch of EURR remaining in Denmark, Portugal and Poland, Revolut assures its customers this is just the beginning of its stablecoin development roadmap.
The company says on its official blog that stablecoins tied to other currencies are already in development, urging interested consumers to sign up on a form to be notified upon launch.
Revolut also hopes to release EURR across other European countries soon, although an exact release date is yet to be mentioned.
