Justin Sun Issues Bitcoin Quantum Warning as TRON Targets Quantum-Resistant Upgrade

TRON founder Justin Sun revived the discussion of whether the largest blockchains would be quantum-ready, saying in a speech at Bitcoin Asia 2026 in Hong Kong on August 27 that quantum risks are not limited to crypto. He said Bitcoin might need more time to organize a consensus on how to reduce the threat.

This limitation was the focus of the Justin Sun Bitcoin warning, which stressed the time required to counter a future threat, not the possibility of a quantum attack existing at this time. TRON, meanwhile, has been researching solutions for quantum resistance for over a year, Sun said.
