Michael Saylor's Strategy adds 950 Bitcoin worth $76 million, bringing total holdings to $74 billion

Prominent Bitcoin investor Michael Saylor's Strategy Inc. is snapping up 950 more of the digital token for about $76 million following a three-week pause, according to a Monday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Strategy is also making moves to boost its share price. The same SEC filing disclosed that the Virginia-based Bitcoin holding firm had repurchased $174 million of its preferred stock. Strategy's token holdings now total 846,000 Bitcoin worth $74 billion.

Bitcoin has fluctuated sharply in price over the past two years. It peaked at just above $126,000 in Sept. 2025 on the back of market enthusiasm for President Donald Trump's second term in which he declared to be a "pro-crypto president." His administration dropped scores of federal investigations into crypto firms and signed into law a regulatory framework for stablecoin issuers that integrated them further into the mainstream financial world. Stablecoin is a crypto asset pegged to a reserve currency like the U.S. dollar.

Bitcoin prices have since dropped sharply from last year's record-high to $86,500 as of Tuesday afternoon. That price plunge hasn't dented Saylor's enthusiasm.

"A little more orange," he posted on social media the day before the SEC filing, referring to a Bitcoin price chart with the company's signature color.
