Quantinuum has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Western Australia (UWA) to provide researchers and students with access to quantum technology.

Under the terms of the agreement, Quantinuum will provide cloud access to its full-stack quantum computing platform, including its latest-generation quantum system, Helios.

The company launched Helios in November 2025. Helios is a general-purpose quantum computer that allows developers to program quantum and heterogeneous classical computers in the same way, thereby enabling hybrid quantum capabilities to be combined in a single program.

In a statement, the partners said the agreement aims to “advance Australia's quantum capability” by expanding access to advanced quantum technologies, developing talent across the sector, and boosting the development of practical applications that integrate quantum computing, AI, and high-performance computing (HPC).

Quantinuum and UWA will also explore opportunities to expand the university’s quantum and AI research ecosystem via a quantum computing applications center that will bring together stakeholders from academia, industry, and government to identify high-value use cases in sectors that include critical minerals, energy, agriculture, and healthcare.
