Quobly and Orange Quantum Systems have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to accelerate automated testing of silicon spin qubits, addressing a critical need as quantum computing scales toward industrial production. The collaboration pairs Quobly’s silicon spin qubit technology, fabricated on a 300 mm FD-SOI platform, with Orange Quantum Systems’ expertise in high-throughput test systems.

This work will focus on characterizing how qubit performance varies across devices and wafers, a key challenge in moving beyond individual qubit development. Maud Vinet, CEO and co-founder of Quobly, said, “That means solving the engineering challenges behind the qubit as seriously as we solve the qubit itself.”

Quobly is building its quantum processors on a standard 300 mm FD-SOI platform, a manufacturing approach diverging from more specialized qubit fabrication methods and signaling a commitment to leveraging existing semiconductor infrastructure. This focus on manufacturability underpins a new collaboration with Orange Quantum Systems (OrangeQS) aimed at scaling up testing capabilities for silicon spin qubits. The partnership, formalized with a Memorandum of Understanding signed in Eindhoven, intends to address a critical bottleneck in quantum computing’s progression toward industrial production: rapidly and reliably assessing the performance of large numbers of qubits.
