Strategy, the world's largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, repurchased an additional $139 million of its STRC preferred stock and made no Bitcoin purchases last week.

Strategy said on September 14 that it bought back $139 million of STRC, extending its repurchases of the preferred stock as it manages its capital structure.

The company did not add to its Bitcoin holdings last week. As of September 13, its Bitcoin holdings remained at 845,050 tokens.

Why this matters

The $139 million preferred-stock repurchase is a material capital-allocation move by the largest corporate Bitcoin holder, while its decision not to buy Bitcoin pauses a closely watched source of institutional demand. The disclosed $6.4 billion dollar-asset position suggests Strategy is prioritizing balance-sheet liquidity and financing flexibility alongside its Bitcoin exposure.

Strategy also said it holds $6.4 billion in dollar-denominated assets.

Using those assets, the company estimated its "USD Duration" at about 3.9 years. That means it can meet financial obligations such as dividends and interest for roughly 3.9 years with its current dollar assets, even without relying on Bitcoin prices or new funding.

Strategy also put STRC's "BTC Credit" at 57 basis points, based on assumptions of a Bitcoin price of $77,266, an annual rate of return of 10%, and volatility of 40%. The company described the measure as an internal credit metric showing the additional return STRC investors receive by investing in STRC instead of holding Bitcoin directly.
