According to an 8-K management report submitted by Streets to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on the 8th (local time), Streets' board approved a proposal to double the total purchase limit authorized for its "digital credit securities repurchase program" from $1 billion to $2 billion.

In addition, Strategy did not sell shares through the market-building (ATM) stock issuance program from the 31st of last month to September 7th, nor did Bitcoin.

Along with expanding the repurchase program cap, Streets made a large preferred stock purchase. The company announced that it purchased 1,818,885 shares of the variable interest rate series A permanent stretch preferred stock (ticker name STRC) for a total of $176.3 million (about 235 billion won) between the 31st and September 7th of last month.

Why this matters

The expanded $2 billion repurchase authorization gives one of Bitcoin's largest corporate holders more flexibility to direct capital toward preferred and common share buybacks rather than additional BTC purchases. This could affect how investors assess the company's capital-allocation strategy and the pace at which it adds to its Bitcoin reserves.

On the other hand, no purchases were made for 10% Series A Permanent Strike Preferred Stock (STRF), 8% Series A Permanent Strike Preferred Stock (STRK), 10% Series A Permanent Strike Preferred Stock (STRD), and Class A Common Stock (MSTR) during the same period.
