TROOPS, Inc. (NASDAQ: TROO), a loss-making Hong Kong conglomerate that began life as a Chinese computer-monitor maker, has signed a merger agreement with EFFORCE, the Malta blockchain venture co-founded by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. The TROOPS crypto merger, announced on 12 October 2026, carries no disclosed price, exchange ratio or completion date, and commits the enlarged group to digital-asset infrastructure, crypto trading and what the companies call the possibility of carbon-credit and green-certificate trading.

For investors reading past the Wozniak name, the central fact is what the announcement leaves out. There is no deal value, no structure, no timetable beyond a reference to customary closing conditions, and no description of an operating crypto-trading business. What is on the table is a narrative, attached to one of the better-known names in consumer technology, bolted onto a Nasdaq listing that has changed direction repeatedly over the past decade.

What has TROOPS actually agreed with EFFORCE?

TROOPS, the listed entity, is the surviving vehicle. It gains access to EFFORCE Group's blockchain frameworks and what the companies describe as EFFORCE's regulatory and licensing credentials, and it frames the combination as a move beyond cryptocurrency exchange activity into adjacent digital verticals, including possible trading of carbon credits and green certificates.
