Mumbai: WazirX has launched a new OTT campaign featuring actor Tigmanshu Dhulia reprising his iconic Gangs of Wasseypur character, Ramadhir Singh, to address the growing practice of crypto traders relying on unverified recommendations and online tip groups.

The 79-second film recasts Ramadhir Singh as ‘Bauji’, a figure of hard-earned trading wisdom. Set against spaces reminiscent of the Gangs of Wasseypur universe, the campaign recreates the character’s familiar father-son dynamic to deliver a message around informed decision-making in crypto futures trading.

The film follows Bauji as he challenges his son’s belief that people sharing trading tips online necessarily know how to make money. Through humour and the character’s trademark impatience, the campaign points out that tip providers can benefit regardless of whether a trader makes a profit or incurs a loss.

The campaign seeks to highlight the risks associated with following confident buy-or-sell calls, promised returns and recommendations circulating across online trading communities, particularly when traders enter leveraged positions without adequately understanding the market.

The campaign rollout was preceded by a social media build-up involving Dhulia and director Anurag Kashyap, which sparked speculation among users about the return of Ramadhir Singh and the possibility of a Gangs of Wasseypur reboot. The film also brings back the character’s popular “Tumse na ho payega” dialogue, reframing it as a challenge to viewers: Kya tum se ho payega?
