CFTC Sets Aug. 20 Crypto Talks as Regulators Seek Clearer Rules

• CFTC advisers will explore clearer federal rules for the growing crypto market.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission will hold the first meeting of its Innovation Advisory Committee on Aug. 20, with crypto regulation among the main issues on the agenda.

The committee will examine how the US can move from a patchwork of digital-asset rules toward clearer federal oversight. Members will also discuss regulatory barriers facing crypto companies.
