JPMorgan Expands Crypto ETF Portfolio: Adds Solana Stake, Boosts Bitcoin and Ethereum Holdings

JPMorgan Chase significantly increased its exposure to cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs) during the second quarter of 2025, according to a recent 13F filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The bank boosted its positions in BlackRock’s spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs and opened a new position in a Solana staking fund, signaling continued institutional adoption of digital assets.

Key Holdings and Changes

As of June 30, JPMorgan held approximately 10.4 million shares of BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), valued at roughly $355 million. This marks an increase from about 8.3 million shares in the previous quarter. The bank’s stake in BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) also grew substantially, reaching about 1.17 million shares worth approximately $14.3 million — a 338% increase quarter-over-quarter.

In a notable move, JPMorgan established a new position in the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF, holding about 47,500 shares. The filing also revealed that the bank resumed holdings in XRP-related products after selling its position in the first quarter. As of June 30, JPMorgan held stakes in the Bitwise XRP ETF and the Grayscale XRP Trust ETF, along with about 19,900 shares of Armada Acquisition Corp II, a special purpose acquisition company tied to a deal backed by Ripple.
