MemeBitcoin Raises $8M Strategic Round to Scale Its Public Race Toward Satoshi's Wallet

September 1, 2026 — MemeBitcoin (MBTC), the Bitcoin-native project that turns the race to reach Satoshi's wallet into something anyone can join, has raised $8 million in a strategic round backed by Gemhead Capital, Archer Capital, M2M Capital and Mayer Venture.

The round will fund the project's next phase of growth, including a global community campaign, full public launch and preparation for exchange listings.

A deadline crypto has never taken seriously

MBTC is built on one of crypto's oldest unanswered questions. An estimated 1,096,361 BTC sits in Satoshi-era wallets whose public keys have been visible on-chain since 2009. For most of Bitcoin's history that exposure was a theoretical concern. Progress in quantum computing is what has changed the timeline.

MBTC's answer is to make the problem participatory. Through the project's web app, users generate and test candidate private keys against Satoshi's public key, complete missions and share content, with every action logged as a contribution. No tokens are pre-allocated to the team; the entire supply is distributed through participation.

The project describes its goal in two parts: to generate enough public pressure that Satoshi-era coins are moved somewhere safer before quantum hardware matures and, if they are never moved, to get there first using the data and collective effort its community builds along the way.
