Palo Alto Networks bets on AI agents with Console deal

Palo Alto Networks, the Nasdaq-listed cybersecurity company, has acquired Console, an AI-native platform built to bring agentic capabilities to enterprise security operations.

The deal is designed to give organisations the ability to apply AI-driven analysis and automated action across their operations, allowing alerts, issues and requests to be resolved at machine speed rather than relying solely on manual intervention.

Console’s technology will be folded into Palo Alto Networks’ Cortex platform, where it is expected to strengthen the company’s existing agentic capabilities. The integration is intended to support security teams as they investigate signals, prioritise workloads and act across their environments, moving beyond traditional dashboard management and ticket queuing toward more autonomous workflows.

Palo Alto Networks describes itself as a global cybersecurity leader. According to the release, the acquisition reflects the view that as AI continues to reshape the threat landscape, organisations require security platforms capable of operating with greater speed, contextual awareness and operational discipline. The company frames the move as part of a broader shift toward what it calls “software-as-an-agent”, in which platforms are equipped to carry out remediation and response autonomously rather than simply presenting information for human teams to act upon.
