Problem Solvers Caucus Announces New Working Group on Artificial Intelligence and Evolving Technologies

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Problem Solvers Caucus Co-Chairs Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) and Tom Suozzi (NY-03) announced the formation of a new bipartisan Working Group on Artificial Intelligence and Evolving Technologies. The group will be led by Reps. Mike Lawler (NY-17) and Josh Gottheimer (NJ-05), with Reps. Hillary Scholten (MI-03) and Blake Moore (UT-01) serving as Vice Leads. Rep. David Joyce (R-OH), Susie Lee (D-NV), Rob Bresnahan (R-PA), Steven Horsford (D-NV), Tom Kean (R-NJ), Angie Craig (D-MN), Maria Salazar (R-FL), and Scott Peters (D-CA) will all serve as additional Members of the Working Group. 

As artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies increasingly shape the workplace, the marketplace, national security, education, and critical infrastructure, the Problem Solvers Caucus is committed to advancing responsible policies that strengthen American competitiveness while protecting consumers, workers, and small businesses.

The Working Group will focus on developing clear, practical guardrails that promote accuracy, transparency, and integrity in AI systems while allowing American innovation to continue to lead. Members will also examine how Congress can help workers and small businesses succeed in an AI-enabled economy, address the misuse of emerging technologies that could undermine elections or public trust, protect families and consumers from harmful or deceptive applications, and strengthen national security.
