- PsiQuantum has unveiled an 8×8 optical circuit switching demonstration built on its low-loss silicon photonics platform, originally developed for utility-scale quantum computing.
- Company testing reported 1.2 dB insertion loss, 40 dB crosstalk performance and less than 3 milliseconds of reconfiguration time, without optical amplification.
- PsiQuantum is sharing demonstration samples with selected prospective customers and plans to develop commercial products for AI data center connectivity while continuing its work on fault-tolerant quantum computers.
PRESS RELEASE — PsiQuantum today unveiled its Optical Circuit Switching (OCS) technology, demonstrating how the company’s advanced, low-loss silicon photonics platform can be applied to some of the most significant scaling challenges facing AI infrastructure.
AI systems are scaling faster than computing infrastructure, with increasingly large pools of compute placing enormous demands on the networks connecting them. As moving data efficiently between these systems becomes a fundamental constraint for continued AI scaling, the computing industry is increasingly turning to optics to provide faster, more efficient, and scalable connectivity.
