QuSecure’s post-quantum security platform hits TRL 7 in U.S. Army test

QuSecure's post-quantum security platform has achieved Technology Readiness Level 7 (TRL 7) following its successful deployment in a U.S. Army field exercise, as reported by SDx Central. The platform was used to protect and monitor tactical mission systems during the exercise, demonstrating its capabilities in an operational environment.

During Project Convergence Capstone 6 at the National Training Center, QuSecure's QuProtect R3 platform met the TRL 7 standard. The U.S. Army's C5ISR Center confirmed the assessment. The platform secured approximately 10 data connections using its QuProtect Resilience component and continuously monitored over 50 systems with QuProtect Reconnaissance. The exercise involved around 10,000 participants testing over 90 technologies.

QuSecure utilized a post-quantum version of Transport Layer Security (TLS) with the ML-KEM-1024 algorithm for key establishment. Notably, the platform demonstrated the ability to switch key establishment mechanisms without requiring application restarts or causing downtime. This integration is part of QuSecure's ongoing work with the C5ISR Center to incorporate its technology into the Army's Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) architecture, aligning with federal mandates for post-quantum cryptography migration.
