Strategy Positions Bitcoin as Global Reserve Capital
Michael Saylor, executive chairman of Strategy Inc. (Nasdaq: MSTR), promoted the company’s bitcoin investor guide on X on Sept. 12, emphasizing BTC’s potential role as a global reserve asset. The thesis positions bitcoin as an asset that could attract wealth now held in traditional markets.
The company’s 21-page bitcoin investment framework, revised Sept. 7, examines how a supply capped at 21 million coins, independent verification, and global transferability could support long-term demand. Strategy describes a potential market in which equity, credit, debt, derivatives, and money develop around BTC.
Saylor stated:
“Bitcoin is an open, global reserve asset with absolute scarcity. The Investor Guide explores bitcoin’s monetary properties, investment case, market structure, portfolio role, custody and risks.”
That argument extends Saylor’s earlier expectation that bitcoin could become more widely held by companies, banks, funds, and sovereigns. His global digital capital outlook anticipated deeper financial integration by 2036. Strategy’s latest framework similarly envisages bitcoin competing for wealth-preservation demand while dollars, banks, and traditional capital markets retain their roles.
