Strive Crosses 27,000 BTC After $94.5 Million Bitcoin Purchase

Strive (NASDAQ: $ASST) bought 1,107 bitcoin for approximately $94.5 million last week, pushing its total holdings to 27,462 BTC, according to a Form 8-K filed Monday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The Dallas-based asset manager made the purchases between September 21 and September 25 at an average price of $85,396 per coin, including fees. The pace marked a slowdown from the prior week, when Strive added 1,355 bitcoin, based on its previous filings.

Strive's perpetual preferred stock, known as SATA, supplied 85% of the capital raised for the purchase. Warrant exercises generated an additional $12.4 million. CEO Matt Cole disclosed the breakdown in a post on X.

SATA has funded the bulk of Strive's recent buying. A 469-bitcoin purchase earlier this month that brought holdings to an even 25,000 coins was paid for entirely with the preferred stock, while a $109 million purchase in early September split funding 70/30 between SATA and common stock.

Strive remains the fifth-largest public bitcoin holder, trailing Strategy (NASDAQ: $MSTR), Twenty One Capital, Metaplanet and MARA (NASDAQ: $MARA), according to Bitcoin Treasuries data. Closing the gap with fourth-place Twenty One, which holds 43,514 BTC, would require roughly 16,050 more coins by year-end — about 1,235 bitcoin a week.

Other treasury companies also disclosed purchases Monday. Strategy added 1,665 bitcoin for $142.7 million, bringing its holdings to a record 847,666 BTC.

Strive's total bitcoin position was valued at approximately $2.3 billion based on Friday's closing bitcoin price of $83,943.
