According to his official schedule, Trump will deliver remarks alongside technology leaders in the afternoon. White House representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Who is attending
Semafor reported that CFTC Chair Mike Selig, SEC Chair Paul Atkins and crypto adviser Patrick Witt are expected to attend, along with trade association officials and representatives from Coinbase, Ripple, Andreessen Horowitz and Nasdaq.
Representatives for prediction markets were initially slated to attend but were dropped from the guest list, citing an unnamed White House official.
Regulators move first
On Tuesday, the SEC proposed long-awaited rules that would exempt certain token offerings from securities regulations, easing the path for companies to issue tokens and raise capital.
The CFTC is scheduled to take up crypto regulation at an industry gathering on Thursday.
XRP moved from $1.142 to $1.258 over the last 30-day period, a gain of 10.2 percent.
