Wells Fargo, the fourth-largest bank in the United States, has disclosed a combined position of roughly $9.18 million in the Bitwise XRP ETF, according to its latest quarterly securities filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The 13F-HR form, submitted on August 14 and covering holdings as of June 30, 2026, marks the largest single institutional allocation to the Bitwise product reported so far this quarter.

The filing details two separate line items of $1.39 million and $7.79 million, both tied to the same CUSIP for the Bitwise XRP ETF. The split suggests the positions are held across different accounts or fund structures within the bank's reporting entity. Wells Fargo manages $2.1 trillion in total assets and $2.5 trillion in client assets, lending considerable institutional weight to the disclosure.

Crypto market commentator Xaif was among the first to draw attention to the filing, noting that a bank of Wells Fargo's scale disclosing millions in XRP ETF exposure is "worth watching." The position reflects a broader shift among traditional financial institutions toward digital asset products delivered through regulated ETF vehicles.

Institutional XRP Filings Accelerate

Wells Fargo's disclosure lands during a quarter that has produced a record number of institutional filings tied to XRP products. Citadel, the Chicago-based hedge fund manager, earlier in 2026 disclosed call options on the Canary XRP ETF after closing out its put positions entirely. Gallacher Capital Management reported 86,744 shares of the Bitwise XRP ETF, valued at $961,126, in its own Q2 13F filing.
