Birmingham Crypto Robbery: £10,000 Reward Offered for Information

A £10,000 reward has been offered for information about a targeted home robbery involving cryptocurrency in Birmingham.

Crimestoppers announced the reward on September 24 as authorities continue investigating the attack on a young couple in Smith’s Wood. The charity says qualifying information must lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

The incident happened at about 5:20 p.m. on December 13, 2025. The couple was returning home when three men left a nearby vehicle and followed them through their front door.

Police believe the robbery may have been planned and targeted. Investigators say the men demanded a substantial cryptocurrency transfer after entering the property.

Attackers Forced Cryptocurrency Transfer

According to Crimestoppers, another person relayed instructions to the attackers through a video call during the robbery.

The husband suffered serious injuries after being assaulted. His wife, who was pregnant at the time, was threatened with a knife. The couple was expecting their third child.

The attackers left after obtaining the cryptocurrency and several high-value watches. Investigators believe they escaped in a black BMW X3.

Authorities have not disclosed the cryptocurrency involved or the monetary value transferred. They have also not published blockchain addresses linked to the stolen funds.
