Bitcoin Holds Steady as US-Iran Tensions Escalate
A recent report by CoinGape noted that Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, offered the US a 7-day ceasefire plan to end the war and to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
However, the Wall Street Journal reports that President Trump has rejected that proposal, a move that pushed Bitcoin price to $83,000.
The report noted that President Trump doubts that Iran will meet his demands for a ceasefire, adding that he said he will resume bombing the country after the upcoming elections. The US has also informed Iran that Trump will not lift the naval blockade.
Bitcoin price recorded a slight drop from $84,100 to $83,900 after the report, before rebounding to $84,000 at the time of writing.
