The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has filed a lawsuit in a Florida federal court against Christopher Delgado and his company, Goliath Ventures Inc. According to the regulator, the accused fraudulently raised $397 million from over 1,600 clients through the firm by promising high returns from investments in cryptocurrency liquidity pools on decentralized exchanges.
The CFTC claims that Delgado spent the users’ funds on personal expenses, including luxury clothing and world travel. He now faces up to 20 years in prison.
