Two cryptocurrency entrepreneurs have donated a combined £72 million to Reform UK, giving Nigel Farage’s party an unprecedented influx of political funding ahead of the next British general election, according to the BBC.

Ben Delo and Christopher Harborne each @coinbureau contributed a record £36 million. Harborne had previously donated £9 million to Reform UK in August, while Delo said he wanted to give the party a “fair fight” at the next election. The donations represent the largest combined contribution highlighted in recent reporting on UK party finances.

Record Donations Put Reform UK at Center of Funding Debate

Delo, a co-founder of cryptocurrency exchange BitMEX, has positioned his contribution as support for Reform UK’s ability to compete financially with larger political parties. The scale of the donation has intensified debate in Britain over whether political contributions should face tighter limits.

The funding also underscores the growing intersection between Britain’s cryptocurrency sector and national politics. Both Delo and Harborne are prominent figures associated with the digital-asset industry, making their contributions notable beyond the immediate political impact.
