SANTA FE, N.M. — One of the world’s largest tech companies announced it is establishing a quantum computing research center here in New Mexico.
Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed a memorandum of understanding with Tokyo-based Fujitsu on Thursday. The planned quantum center will train quantum scientists and engineers and create internships and research opportunities for students, according to the governor’s office. It’ll also bring jobs and new investment to the state.
This new agreement builds on Fujitsu’s existing relationship with New Mexico State University. They will also work with the Quantum New Mexico Institute at University of New Mexico.
