NVIDIA has announced a $1 billion capital and resource commitment over the next five years to support U.S. scientific research, supercomputing capacity, and quantum technology development. Announced in D.C. alongside officials from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), the initiative aligns with the expanded public-private Genesis Mission. The commitment spans higher-education research institutions, government-focused cloud service providers, and national laboratory infrastructure, with direct allocations targeted at hybrid quantum-classical hardware integration, fault-tolerant quantum software platforms, fusion energy, and microelectronics design.

A core focus of the five-year outlay is expanding access to high-performance computing (HPC) nodes and NVIDIA’s open-source CUDA-Q platform for hybrid quantum processor (QPU) simulation and control. Under Phase 2 of the Genesis Mission, NVIDIA will collaborate across multiple national laboratory projects, building upon its existing work with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Key infrastructure deployments include building out Argonne National Laboratory‘s largest scientific supercomputer alongside seven additional accelerated systems across Argonne and Los Alamos National Laboratories to support large-scale quantum circuit simulation, error mitigation modeling, and real-time QEC decoding architectures.
