Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse on Thursday said making America the crypto capital of the world is "within reach" when he responded to CFTC Chairman Mike Selig's post about the Aug.19 White House crypto meeting.

CFTC Chairman Selig had thanked President Donald Trump for hosting crypto industry leaders at the White House last month, saying the administration is ensuring the new frontier of finance gets built on American soil.

Garlinghouse replied directly, saying he was "proud to be in the room" and calling for the industry to finish the job.

Don't Miss:

The Aug. 19 meeting brought together Garlinghouse, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, SEC Chairman Paul Atkins, and other industry and regulatory leaders.

Selig highlighted key regulatory milestones from the Trump administration including the GENIUS Act, a strategic Bitcoin reserve, and clearer rules separating crypto securities from commodities.

The CFTC also launched its Innovation Advisory Committee, with its charter renewed on August 19 and its first meeting held the following day.
