Saratoga resident loses $2.9 million in fraudulent cryptocurrency scheme

Sept. 2

Assault and battery: At 6:51 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 18000 block of Bellgrove Circle. An investigation revealed the suspect grabbed and pushed the victim, causing injury. The suspect was cited and released.

Sept. 7

Vehicle burglary: Between 8 p.m. on Sept. 6 and 8 a.m. on Sept. 7, someone broke through a window of a vehicle parked in the 13000 block of Berwick Street and stole tools valued at approximately $1,500.

Residential burglary: At 10:47 a.m., deputies responded to a trespassing call at a residence in the 13000 block of Vista Regina. An investigation revealed the suspect entered the home by prying a window open and stole a house key. The suspect fled the scene on foot but was located a short time later in possession of the stolen key. The suspect, who also had three outstanding warrants, was arrested and booked into main jail.

Sept. 8

Vehicle burglary: Between 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 7 and 9 a.m. on Sept. 8, someone broke a window on a vehicle parked in the 13000 block of McCulloch Avenue and stole construction materials and tools valued at approximately $1,626.

Identity theft: A Saratoga resident reported that someone used their personal identifying information to create a corporation. No financial loss was reported.
