Charles Schwab plans to add Solana, Avalanche and Chainlink to Schwab Crypto in the coming months, expanding the retail platform beyond bitcoin and ether after it began rolling out in May.
The three additions will bring the direct-trading menu to five tokens. Schwab gave no specific launch date and said it could delay, change or withdraw support for an announced asset because of market, regulatory, operational or risk developments.
A Retail Expansion Before the Advisor Rollout
Schwab Crypto is offered through Charles Schwab Premier Bank, with clients maintaining a separate crypto account linked to their Schwab brokerage account. The company said at the April launch that Paxos would provide sub-custody and trade execution. Trades are priced at 75 basis points, or 0.75%, of the dollar value of each transaction.
Bitcoin moved from $63,901 to $80,159.7 over the last 30-day period, a gain of 25.4 percent.

The accounts are available in every U.S. state except New York and Louisiana, and are unavailable in U.S. territories and international jurisdictions. Schwab says not all clients will qualify.
The new tokens are being added to Schwab's retail offer, rather than the advisor channel. As Converge previously reported, Schwab said at a June media roundtable that it was targeting mid-2027 to bring spot crypto trading, transfers and custody to registered investment advisers on its platform, which held $5.2 trillion in advisor client assets at the end of the first quarter. At that roundtable, Schwab had not disclosed which assets the advisor service would support.
When it announced Schwab Crypto in April, the company said it intended over time to add more cryptocurrencies as well as deposit-and-withdrawal transfer capabilities.
