The move created one countywide approach after Spokane, Spokane Valley and Airway Heights had already put similar restrictions in place.
Commissioners voted unanimously on Tuesday to ban crypto transactions on ATMs in unincorporated parts of the county. Officials said scammers often use those machines to take money from victims, especially older adults.
County leaders said some scammers pose as police officers or bankers. They then pressure people to pull out cash and tell them to put that money into a crypto kiosk.
Existing kiosks must be removed within 60 days.
