Bitcoin Price Consolidation Likely: Analyst Points to $70K-$73K Support Zone

Bitcoin may be entering a period of price consolidation rather than facing an immediate sharp decline, according to crypto analyst KillaXBT. In a recent post on X, the analyst suggested that the recent strong rally, which hinted at a possible trend reversal, makes a sustained range-bound movement more likely than a deep pullback.

Historical Pattern from the 2022 Bottom

KillaXBT drew parallels between the current market structure and the bottoming phase observed in 2022. The analyst noted that most major lows during that period were marked by a single strong upward candle, a pattern that appears to have repeated recently. In the 2022 instance, Bitcoin surged from approximately $16,000 to $25,000 before correcting to around $19,000, which corresponded to the 0.618 Fibonacci retracement level of that initial move.

If a similar sequence unfolds in the current cycle, the analyst argues that the downside may be limited. The analysis suggests that Bitcoin could establish the lower boundary of a trading range in the $70,000 to $73,000 zone in the near term. Following this potential base-building phase, the asset might then attempt to break above the $80,000 resistance level.
