Bitwise Partners with Vise for Crypto Model Rollout

Crypto asset manager Bitwise and fintech Vise announced the rollout of diversified crypto model portfolios for the accounts on Vise’s platform. Earlier this year, Bitwise launched seven model portfolios focused on digital assets.

Vise’s technology platform services over 135,000 accounts with $140 billion in assets, including hundreds of wealth management firms. On Vise, Bitwise’s crypto models will be located inside the same portfolios as clients’ equity, fixed income and alternative holdings. They will be rebalanced on the same schedule and receive the same tax management treatment as the rest of the account.

"Crypto only works in a portfolio if it's treated like a real allocation—sized to the client's risk, monitored and brought back to target when it drifts," said Runik Mehrotra, co-founder and co-head of Vise, in a statement. “Bitwise brings the research to decide what belongs in the allocation, and Vise handles everything after that. Advisors shouldn't have to run crypto as a separate book.”

Bitwise model portfolios are tailored to suit different risk preferences and provide exposure to digital assets through spot crypto ETFs, crypto index ETFs, thematic ETFs and crypto equity ETFs.

As the financial services industry increasingly relies on model portfolios to manage clients’ investments, asset managers specializing in crypto have been following suit. Earlier this month, Grayscale Investments launched Grayscale Model Portfolios, which offer direct exposure to digital assets.
