Technically speaking, SOL is leading the pack among large-cap altcoins with a 9% weekly gain, surging to as high as $114 and breaking above key resistance. The SOL/ETH ratio is also up 4%, signaling stronger relative demand for Solana versus Ethereum as Bitcoin reclaimed $80,000.
The timing is key. As the chart below shows, TOTAL3 has moved back above $800 billion for the first time in more than eight months, while 70% of Binance-listed altcoins are now above their 200-day moving average.
After nearly a year of grinding weakness, this shows altcoin momentum is spreading, with capital rotating back toward alternative assets.

Naturally, the question becomes: Is SOL just riding the rotation, or is there a “SOL-specific” catalyst?
The technical setup suggests the latter with increased relative demand. The SOL/BTC ratio is up more than 4%, as Solana dominance broke above 2.3%, just as Bitcoin dominance struggles near 60%.
This implies that Solana [SOL] is not just riding the rotation of the broader altcoin market but is attracting relative demand as capital rotates away from Bitcoin.
More importantly, another setup is beginning to take shape underneath. The key question now is whether Solana’s current setup will be able to hold in order to turn the base into a breakout heading into October.
