Harmony to fully sunset Layer 1, proposes token migration to Ethereum for AI video initiative

Harmony said it plans to fully sunset its Layer 1 blockchain and has proposed migrating its token to Ethereum as part of a new direction centered on AI video. The project described the effort as a “remix economy” intended to involve AI video creators.

The proposed transition would move Harmony away from operating its own Layer 1 network, where validators have helped secure the chain and process activity. Harmony said it would assist validators in transitioning to the proposed new initiative as the Layer 1 is wound down.

Ethereum is a major smart-contract blockchain and a common destination for projects seeking to use its broader developer and application ecosystem. Harmony’s proposal links the token migration and validator transition to its planned AI video-focused remix economy, though the initiative remains a proposal.
