HedgeCo.Net — U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs recorded $201.8 million of net outflows on Friday, August 28, ending a nine-session inflow streak, according to the Farside Investors issuer table mirrored on TFTC’s flow tracker. Cointelegraph independently printed about $201.8 million of Friday outflows and the same nine-day streak break, citing SoSoValue alongside Farside detail on the leaders.
ARK 21Shares’ ARKB led withdrawals at $114.9 million, followed by Bitwise’s BITB at $49.7 million, BlackRock’s IBIT at $33.4 million, and VanEck’s HODL at $13.2 million. Morgan Stanley’s MSBT was the lone inflow among the named sleeves, adding $9.3 million. Thursday’s session had been a $242.2 million inflow day on the same Farside table, so the Friday print flipped the tape after nine consecutive positive sessions.
Cointelegraph noted August month-to-date flows were still positive even after Friday, with total net assets slipping back under $100 billion to about $97.6 billion. Ether and XRP ETF categories continued to take inflows on the same Friday tape in that coverage, underscoring that the bitcoin sleeve reversal was not a blanket digital-asset ETF exit.
The allocator object is a single-session flow reversal after a nine-day run, not a month-to-date washout. Mark Friday’s $201.8 million net and the ARKB lead, and do not recycle Thursday’s $242 million inflow as still current.
