Bitcoin briefly rose above $80,000 before sliding back to around $76,000, but Kalshi traders are putting more weight on it reaching $82,000 within September.
U.Today, a blockchain outlet, reported on Sept. 2, local time, that Kalshi disclosed its traders, as of Sept. 3, see $82,000 as bitcoin’s target for this month.
With the current trading price at about $76,000, Kalshi market participants are effectively betting bitcoin can climb at least about 7 percent more this month. The view reflects a mood that does not see the short-term pullback as damaging the trend, even as bitcoin has halted its August rise and is trading again in a weaker range.
In the background is a strong August rally. Bitcoin rose about 25 percent from around $62,500 last month to above $78,000. The peak over the period was about $81,138. Kalshi’s $82,000 forecast is slightly above that high.
The market is also watching that bitcoin has continued to test the $80,000 level over the past few days. Kalshi’s latest prediction shows traders still believe in a further rally despite the short-term price pullback. Some observations also suggest that if these expectations persist, bullish sentiment in bitcoin could last longer.
