Bitpanda extends RBI crypto partnership across Central and Eastern Europe

Cryptocurrency exchange Bitpanda is expanding its partnership with Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) to cover the Austrian banking group’s full network across Central and Eastern Europe, potentially reaching around 18 million customers.

The deal establishes a group wide framework for RBI to integrate digital asset services across its CEE markets, with a progressive rollout tailored to local jurisdictions. Bitpanda Enterprise will provide the underlying trading, custody and infrastructure layer.

The partnership builds on the model first launched in Austria, where Raiffeisenlandesbank NÖ-Wien became the first traditional EU bank to offer crypto trading through its existing banking environment in 2024, powered by Bitpanda’s technology. RBI CEO Michael Höllerer said the bank is “seeing growing demand for crypto assets in our markets.”
