Princeton Police reported another scam case involving a resident whose bank account was used to send $16,880 to a Bitcoin kiosk in Trenton, according to TAPinto. The incident highlights the continued use of cryptocurrency payment channels in fraud cases reported to local law enforcement.

Bitcoin kiosks, also called crypto ATMs, allow users to buy or transfer digital assets through a physical machine. In transactions involving Bitcoin, funds are typically sent to a digital wallet address, rather than through a conventional bank-to-bank payment system. Once a Bitcoin transfer has been processed on the network, it is generally difficult to reverse.

The reported loss involved money leaving a resident’s bank account before reaching a Bitcoin kiosk in Trenton. Crypto kiosks have drawn attention from consumer-protection agencies because they can be used in scams where victims are directed to convert funds into cryptocurrency and send it to an address controlled by another party.

The Princeton Police report, as covered by TAPinto, adds another local example of a scam tied to a Bitcoin kiosk transaction. The $16,880 amount underscores how fraud involving digital-asset payments can result in substantial losses for individual residents.
