Absa digital assets head Rob Downes says stablecoin flows across the bank’s African markets have more than doubled over the past four years.

Stablecoins are rapidly displacing bitcoin speculation as the main driver of crypto activity in South Africa and elsewhere on the continent.
Bitcoin moved from $77,681.6 to $84,468.1 over the last 30-day period, a gain of 8.7 percent.
